Simplesentence 2 by White-Baron Simplesentence 2 by White-Baron
Version 2.1

You can no longer download this version, get the latest edition here.

Note: Read the included text file before installing.

Updated: New skins now included, as well as some fixes. Music player now compatible with Foobar2k and Winamp!

An overhaul of my previous Simplesentence Rainmeter skin; here is the second edition.

This time I was aiming for a much more complete configuration, and a sleeker look. Simplesentence is designed to be unique from any other available skins, while still remaining easily customisable so that it can be integrated into a multitude of different desktops and themes.

Voted Skin of the Month for April 2010, thanks to everyone and to ~Magatsuerath for the nomination.

I think I might still have it on my laptop. Its been severely tweaked though since I changed fonts and made global variables to color, text effects (shadows, outline, etc), etc etc etc.. I don't know what the licensing was for the original was but I'm assuming its something along the lines of the Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial-ShareAlike. If its that important I might be able to find the original rar.

Sorry, it's a bit outdated. I'm currently working on the new version so it doesn't seem too different.

If you wait a week or so (depending on a few things) I will have [link] finished, which won't have this problem. Until then, make sure you have the included font installed (restart Rainmeter after installing a new font).

Hi, I'm using Foobar and how do I make my music tile and artist look like yours? Here's what mine currently say: [link]

I want it to list the title and then "by" the artist in the following line. Also, is it possible to make it display Asian characters?

The skin you are looking at is for iTunes - it uses a different plugin and has different capabilities. The Foobar plugin is very limited, so the skin you have is as close as possible to the iTunes skin as I could make it.

I'm not sure how it would deal with Asian characters, you may want to drop this question in at the Rainmeter forums, I'm sure they have dealt with this before.

I changed the spam.dll to something called foo_vis_shpeck.dll: [link]

It now displays Asian characters. Don't know if it'll do anything to the title formatting though.

Ok, I got it to work exactly how I wanted.

Under foobar-preferences-visualtions-spheck:I added

$crlf()

between the title and artist. I added "by", spacing and edited the skin x and y location to get the formatting right.

Here's my formatting text: %title% $crlf() by [%artist%' ']

Great skin by the way, keep it up.

Alright first off the colour codes can be various formats, I prefer to use RGB.You can find the RGB code of a colour using something as simple as MS Paint, just pick your colour and click edit colours to get the Red, Green and Blue value. The last number after the RGB code is the opacity (0-255).

To change the colour, right click the skin > edit skin to bring up the .ini file of that particular skin. Look in the meters section for the meter of each line you want to change and replace #Colour# with your RGB code.

To add more RSS feeds you can copy and paste the folder containing an RSS config. To change the feed, open up the .ini file again and change the details.

This is fantastic! Makes my computer seem more... human? :P

I don't suppose you know how I might go about making the scrolling Network Up/Down line plots black do you? I had to change all text to black to contrast my desktop wallpaper and have been scratching my head about this one :3

Cheers :)

Cheers mate :thumbsup:
Now that I look at it, I've stuffed the code up a bit. If you scroll down to MeterUpGraph and MeterDownGraph you will see:

PrimaryColor=#Colour#, 255

This should actually be:

LineColor=#Colour#, 255

Change this in both meters and the colour will fix. Thanks for pointing this out :thumbsup:

You'll need to be using iTunes for artwork to display. If so, just select it from the config menu.

I absolutely cannot get my facebook feed to show up for my RSS. I go to my facebook account and click notifications, click on via RSS and copy and paste the link after the RSSUrl= but it just says "Here's the latest from Facebook" with nothing under it.

I'll make sure to test out a bunch of feeds before I bring out the new version and see if I can figure out what's going on, there may have been some changes to how it all works.

This is awesome, it's the only reason I downloaded rainmeter. But the only thing I can seem to get to work for me is the Time sentence thing. When I use Sun, Weather etc, it just displays an incomplete sentence because I assume it doesn't have my location info so it doesn't know what to say. How do I give it that info so it can display things like that accurately?

You'll need to right click the skin > Edit Skin. This will bring up the skin's .ini file where you can find instructions to get your weather code. You'll need to do this for both skins. Have a go at editing some of the other skins, it's easy to change some of the sentences to whatever you want :thumbsup:
