An overhaul of my previous Simplesentence Rainmeter skin; here is the second edition.
This time I was aiming for a much more complete configuration, and a sleeker look. Simplesentence is designed to be unique from any other available skins, while still remaining easily customisable so that it can be integrated into a multitude of different desktops and themes.
I think I might still have it on my laptop. Its been severely tweaked though since I changed fonts and made global variables to color, text effects (shadows, outline, etc), etc etc etc.. I don't know what the licensing was for the original was but I'm assuming its something along the lines of the Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial-ShareAlike. If its that important I might be able to find the original rar.
If you wait a week or so (depending on a few things) I will have [link] finished, which won't have this problem. Until then, make sure you have the included font installed (restart Rainmeter after installing a new font).
The skin you are looking at is for iTunes - it uses a different plugin and has different capabilities. The Foobar plugin is very limited, so the skin you have is as close as possible to the iTunes skin as I could make it.
I'm not sure how it would deal with Asian characters, you may want to drop this question in at the Rainmeter forums, I'm sure they have dealt with this before.
Alright first off the colour codes can be various formats, I prefer to use RGB.You can find the RGB code of a colour using something as simple as MS Paint, just pick your colour and click edit colours to get the Red, Green and Blue value. The last number after the RGB code is the opacity (0-255).
To change the colour, right click the skin > edit skin to bring up the .ini file of that particular skin. Look in the meters section for the meter of each line you want to change and replace #Colour# with your RGB code.
To add more RSS feeds you can copy and paste the folder containing an RSS config. To change the feed, open up the .ini file again and change the details.
This is fantastic! Makes my computer seem more... human?
I don't suppose you know how I might go about making the scrolling Network Up/Down line plots black do you? I had to change all text to black to contrast my desktop wallpaper and have been scratching my head about this one :3
I absolutely cannot get my facebook feed to show up for my RSS. I go to my facebook account and click notifications, click on via RSS and copy and paste the link after the RSSUrl= but it just says "Here's the latest from Facebook" with nothing under it.
This is awesome, it's the only reason I downloaded rainmeter. But the only thing I can seem to get to work for me is the Time sentence thing. When I use Sun, Weather etc, it just displays an incomplete sentence because I assume it doesn't have my location info so it doesn't know what to say. How do I give it that info so it can display things like that accurately?
You'll need to right click the skin > Edit Skin. This will bring up the skin's .ini file where you can find instructions to get your weather code. You'll need to do this for both skins. Have a go at editing some of the other skins, it's easy to change some of the sentences to whatever you want
